THINGS TO KNOW

If you are new to acupuncture and Asian medicine, here are a few things you should know in advance.

First, the classical Chinese model is unlike the Western model, when one can often expect a single appointment, have tests run and be off with a prescription to fix everything. Our model relies on consistence and patience, honoring the subtleties of the individual’s unique “healthstyle”.  Healthstyle is the cumulative effect of the daily choices and limitations every individual confronts, including schedules, rest, recreation, food, activity levels, and emotional well-being.

Think about it as you would when you begin a new routine of fitness and nutrition. You may have your own limitations to work within, in addition to just basic likes and dislikes. Whatever approach you choose must be one that you think will stick. Improvements are seen with consistency, compliance and time. This is the philosophy of PranaJaya and how we approach each client.
